NARDO ESSENTIAL OIL

COD: olio nardo 01

NARDO ESSENTIAL OIL packs of 15ml. – 50ml.
NARDO essential oil is used for the preparation of CHRISMA.
CHRISMA is consecrated in every diocese once a year on Holy Thursday by the Bishop during the chrism mass, during which the oil of the catechumens and the oil of the infirm. This mass is called chrismal precisely because this oil is consecrated, which is considered the most important of the three oils used in the Christian sacraments. After the Chrism Mass it is distributed to each parish. In the Catholic Church, chrism is the oil mixed with perfume that is used in the sacraments of baptism, confirmation and order. Similarly, chrism is used in the Orthodox Churches, the Assyrian Church of the East, the Ancient Church of the East, the Anglican Communion, and by Lutherans. The term chrism comes from the Greek χρῖσμα, then χρίσμα and means ointment or anointing, passing through Latin and Old French. Precisely because this oil is used in the sacrament of confirmation, the sacrament itself is also called “confirmation”.

The CHRISM confection or consecration of it from the century. IV was reserved for Bishops, and is performed once a year with ritual magnificence. The bishop must be assisted by 12 priests, 7 deacons and 7 sub-deacons, all of whom have an office to fulfill for the consecration, especially of chrism; the oil jar and the balsam jar are carried and brought back in procession; after the service, the chrism, with the holy oils, is distributed to the parish priests of the diocese, also serving as a sign of subjection of the parish priests to their own bishop, since ecclesiastical laws prohibit parish priests, except in exceptional cases, to withdraw the oils from another Bishop.
